NOTES: Notes from Storm's log sheet: "Mics in 3 inches of water, Mics: MKH-40, 60¡ apart, ...Mics 5 feet above surface, angled 45¡ down from horizon. Pointing at Spotted Frog egg mass. 0% cloud cover; sunny. Frost overnight; temp now 60¡F; water probably mid to high 30's; no measurement.(Later found water temp to be 13¡C, in afternoon.) At dawn there was ice on the pond surface. This is in a flooded field, privately owned, onto which Trout Lake has expanded due to flooding, as it does regularly in spring. (See maps in recordist's files for further reference.) Elevation 2000ft. Center stage = NE; R stage = SE; L stage = NW. Windmaster wind screen on. R channel= R stage. This is located 150 ft away from the barbed wire fence between Elk Meadow Campground, site #18, and the field and water which makes up Trout Lake. Mics 8 inches away from egg mass, which was confirmed by Bill Leonard (Washinton Dept Wildlife Biologist; expert on Spotted Frogs) to be Spotted Frog egg masses. Temperate climate, farm pasture, flooded; early spring. Grasses are dominant plants; this is a flat-bottomed mountain valley a few miles wide, not far from Gifford Pinchot NF.".
