Montezuma Quail -male
Detalhes da observação
The male & female Montezuma Quail scooted into view at 10:13a.m. and left at 10:21a.m., a gorgeous 8 minutes from our perspective. If viewed from the back patio, they would have come around the left end of the brush pile that is on the W edge of the back-yard. That is, the quail were very near that end of the chair rows. Neither bird walked more than a foot or two into the yard, possibly because that is their habit or because a Wild Turkey tom was eating in front of the brush pile's center. Momma Quail stayed but a couple minutes, while Poppa kept scratching the ground and eating until the end. The two backtracked around the same end of the brush pile and disappeared into the tall dry grasses in the background. We were thrilled. Finally, we have good pictures of the Montezuma Quail and are again on even level with Keith's brother who photographed the birds earlier this year.
