Detalhes da observação
*beyond property boundary*. Seen at the survey beginning perched on a power pole E of Head Ln beyond the crest of a grassy hill, distant. Size - body ca same diameter as power pole - ruled out small falcons, and slim proportions were instantly recognizable as a falcon rather than a Buteo. Suspected PRFA as that seems most likely, but not able to get good views and I hesitate to jump to conclusions from lousy photos. The head appears notably small in some of the photos, suggesting possibly GYRF. Notably light underneath, presumably too light for PEFA? Observed the bird crane it neck several times (captured in one photo). Facing S or SE. Still present at 0843 but gone by 0846 - presumably flew east-ish as I scanned extensively and did not see it again. Magpies were quite loud along Sevenmile Creek in the vicinity of Head Ln while the falcon was present.
