Continuing. Found, I believe, by Storm Jensen on the 21st. I think this is her patch; she often walks here. I decided to stop on my way home from work and found it was working it way along the shore between the boat launch and a few hundred yards west of the fishing pier. It swims fast! I’d first seen it from far off at the west end of the “island” looking down toward the pier, and it was under the pier, so I walked quickly down to it. When I arrived I could not find it. Almost gave up after loitering on the pier a while when I gave a last distant scan toward the boat-launch basin and saw it far off and heading toward me. This bird swims along the shore as fast as one walks, and it had just been moving away from me as I’d approached the pier earlier. I walked along with it after it came up and followed it a few hundred yards west of the pier before it turned back.
