Detalhes da observação
Pictures attached, and a video as evidence also, but file type isn't allowed. Email at lizardkibbey@gmail.com for the video. First noticed the white check cresent on the face, and that drew me to observing the different head shape and checkered back panels. Head shape was steep and had a very distinct drop off in the back, like the so-called mane. Was observed north down the beach about a quarter to half a mile. The flock was about 300 yards off the beachline. I had to run back up the stairwell to retrieve my camera and then came back down just in time to see a Parasitic Jaeger fly in from the south. He flew overhead and scared up all of the ducks, and proceeded to head nw. Relocated the Barrow's in the flock once the flock settled down straight out from the stairwell. Waves got rougher, wind picked up, and goldeneye kept diving, but I became persistent and finally got a good enough photo and video. VERY positive call! Hoping this duck sticks around for others to find. Good luck!
