One individual calls repeatedly in response to playback of a variety of WTSP calls from the Merlin app. Also heard: White-breasted Nuthatch, Black-capped Chickadee, a distant snow plow, distant airplane or vehicle, wind, wind chimes, and handling noise. The one second gap replaces approximately 3.8 seconds of handling noise by the recordist.
Detalhes da observação
Drab tan morph individual with small white bib foraging in and underneath large bush next to sunflower seed feeders. Yellow lore not noticeable or readily seen. Previously seen briefly at the same location once each on 11/29 and 11/30 but the "rarity" flag deluded me into thinking I was seeing something else. Today I had an extended view without a decent camera available. It came to the edge of my side of the bush looking in my direction as it responded at length to playback of WTSP calls from the Merlin app. I will endeavor to get photos in a future observation(s).
