One around (41.8393105, -124.2146501) and one more near (41.8409956, -124.2109688), both in grassy area at NW end of lake. Initially detected by different call from lapland, a drier, almost harsher rattle call and the classic ‘kittle’ call. First one seen well foraging on ground with laplands - much smaller overall with a tan/beige coloration and more drab appearance overall. Different, fainter facial pattern. Second one was heard and seen in flight with a flock of pipits, and we later confirmed that the other one was still hanging out a ways away with the lapland flock. Photos and audio.
