44.52200, -123.29512. Saw it fly across narrow opening from weedy field with some shrubs into a hawthorn where it perched. This is at the northwestern edge of a small pond. Pale brownish gray slender small sparrow. Underparts pale mostly unmarked with slight suggestion of a few short darker streaks on sides only. Upperparts somewhat darker, streaked gray and gray brown on back but not boldly. No wing bars to speak of. Nape not contrasting much with either crown or back in color. Crown gray brown finely streaked without median stripe. Face with gray brown line behind eye and dull pattern of outlined auricular patch. Lores pale. Slight suggestion of narrow whitish eyering. Bill rather small and appearing slightly pinkish below and dark above. Dark eye. Chipping has dark lores, more contrasty plumage overall including nape, crown, wing bars
