Detalhes da observação
Large warbler with a rather athletic structure that persistently pumps its tail with dark lores, broken eye ring and black streaks along flanks, bluish gray to brownish on upperside and yellow on the underside. This stunning textbook male initially captured my attention while briefly singing at a low subtle tone and cadence that I was actually familiar with since I had already encountered the specie on territory in Mio Michigan. So with that being said I thought in disbelief, “OMG” could that possibly be a Kirtland’s and as I turned to my left, I caught the movement at mid-level and within about twenty feet was the KIWA. What a thrilling experience and a privilege to witness this critically endangered specie in my hometown during spring migration. Special thanks to James Currie, who was able to acquire solid documentation through video which enabled me to submit the specie to FOSRC.( Img’s.taken from video.)
