Detalhes da observação
Debbie G had one this same day as well. On 22 May 2024, going through my Florida spring 2024 photos while back home in Illinois, I found two photos of this bird from a day earlier than I'd originally thought I'd first seen it. Since they were only a quick two shots of this bird from behind, and the hotspot was very birdy after the storms, I must've dismissed the sighting at the time as the winter resident SWSP. Overall buffy tones (not white) and fine streaking with a lack of chestnut color in the wings, evident in the photos, preclude both Song and Swamp Sparrows, as does the buffy UTC with dark brown spots. Crown and nape color/pattern also are consistent with LISP, and no white in the outer tail feathers rules out VESP. Debbie and I were together in the wooded scrub at that point - I remember this because immediately after I shot these photos, we debated the ID of a thrush we were looking at. My HETH photos are time stamped 11:18am EDT, and my purported LISP shots are time stamped 11:17am EDT.
