Detalhes da observação
Update 5-7-24: Originally reported as a curlew sandpiper. A discussion among experienced birders suggest that a Red Knot is more likely, that female REKNs can have very long bills. It would be helpful to me to find a photo of a red knot with similarly long bill, but after looking at countless photos I feel like I have not yet been able to. Original Post: Viewed at some distant with scope. At first thought it was a Red Knot, but did note a long, decurved bill. Photos confirm, I believe, a bill more consistent with a Curlew Sandpiper which is longer then a REKN with a downward curve. Photos are not good but the rufous head, neck and breast was clearly visible through the scope. Also seen through the scope was the white, black and rufous mottled upperparts and the white vent and undertail coverts.
