Detalhes da observação
I was driving east on Talbot Trail from Zion Rd after spending the chilly morning with Josh, Brandon and Max, keeping my eyes to the sky. I finally found a raptor with a TUVU and it looked suspiciously like a SWHA to me with the long wings and "4 fingers". It flew low over my car with my binoculars in the back seat and my camera tucked away. I pulled a U-turn and chased it to the west. I stopped the car about a kilometre west of here, now on the part of the highway that is closed west of Stevenson Rd, except to local traffic, and I waited. Again it flew low over my position and I was able to get photos as it flew 25 feet over my head. I continued on for another kilometre and took a few more photos. At this point, 2 ravens came from out of the trees and began to dive at it. This is about the only time that I saw it flap, it was gliding the rest of the time with a 30 kilometre wind to the north. I included photos of this part of the encounter with the raven entry. I was in a hurry to get to Chatham for an appointment so I couldn't chase it any further but I called the guys at Zion Rd to alert them that I had seen a SWHA and it was coming their way quickly. Long story short, it never made it there. They saw a BWHA so I was second guessing myself but when I got home and brightened the REALLY dark photos, this bird would appear to be an immature light morph SWHA. Quite a few photos attached, some untouched, some brightened and cropped but no other alterations.
