Detalhes da observação
Still, contrary to a lot of other Subic observers, I believe the vast majority of swiftlets are Grey-rumped. I've been through my photos from the day and all show Grey-rumped. The clean white rump of Pygmy can be difficult to see from below - especially for pygmy that likes to be a bit higher up (?) - and the black undertail coverts equally difficult to detect when the birds are flying at speed. Best way is then to check with photos. But all the birds I regularly check and photograph seem to be Grey-rumped. I've only had 7 confirmed pygmy in Subic on 3 out of many, many visits. That the pygmy are supposed to be breeding and hanging around the old bunkers on Hill 394 road (as read in a couple of trip reports from the past), I have not seen recent evidence of - most of my pygmy have been towards coast on Nabassan Trail.
