Detalhes da observação
2nd winter/3cy bird showing obvious heavy bi-colored bill with extensive pale base but thick dark line encroaching from dark tip. Though I didn't see a spread wing, as the bird remained perched on buoy, its primaries were very pale, more so than rest of body, the light grayish mantle was paler than I'd expect on a "pure" GWGU, and there was heavy, subtly darker smudging and large blotching to belly. The bird turned a couple of times and I kept thinking I might be seeing a medium brown to dark honey colored iris, but the bird was too distant, as viewing was at 45-55x through scope. May just be a very bleached out GWGU, but sure seems like there may be some GLGU gene flow. See poor photos which are unfortunately overexposed given the distance they were digiscoped at.
