Detalhes da observação
Recording/bigfoot-esque photo to come. A pale yellow warbler with a gray head and white eyeliner above and below the eyes heard chipping repeatedly. Spotted in the shrubby lot before 736 W 231st (coming from the parking lot on the corner of Independence/W 231st) after walking around the hotspot for about 2 hours. The bird seems to be doing its previously reported circuit. It came out for brief but clear views amid much activity with a mixed flock of birds- chickadees, kinglets, and sparrows. Heads up: The nursing care facility parking area (near Barbie cars, up the curbed path toward the end of W 231st) is no longer a welcome spot for birders. A worker came out and said the residents were uncomfortable with people standing around with cameras- they were okay with it for a few days but have since grown tired of the spectacle. We were asked to leave. Be mindful when looking for the bird - don't linger too long outside of residents' yards with cameras pointed towards their homes and stay clear of the nursing home parking spots/Barbie car yard.
