Detalhes da observação
Likely fall migrant, probably the first one I've ever found in migration. This bird was about 100yds south of the cascades parking lot on the MST, on the left as going south in a very thick tangled patch of undergrowth, with some downed logs lying around. First heard chips which I assumed were Ovenbird chips, then found a bird and it was a Kentucky Warbler, but not making any sound, then almost right next to the Kentucky, like brothers, was this bird which temporarily dumbfounded me as it was so unexpected, took a while to connect the reddish brown cap, dark brown back, pale eye streak and pale cream underparts with Swainson's, then also noticed the very long (for a warbler) and sharp bill. Great close looks for over 5 minutes as it bopped around on the ground and chipped again which I got a great recording of.
