Cliff Swallows calling while flying (with Barn Swallows about as loud)
Detalhes da observação
Many birds seen flying to and from the US 90 bridge, then out over the marsh along the riverbank. In association with Barn Swallows, seen clearly together. They had squared tails in contrast with forked tails on Barns. A couple of birds in flight appeared to have the light-colored forehead “headlamp”, but not all. About ten birds were seen on ground gathering tufts of dry grass, all of which had rich cinnamon rather than white on the forehead. I'm not familiar with Cave, but the throats were probably not pale enough for Cave, and the vocalizations matched Cliff rather than Cave, so I’m calling them all Cliff. Clearly there’s a colony of these birds under the bridge. Frequent conflicts with the Barns also nesting under the bridge.
