Remarks: I always wondered, what these birds might be feeding on in the featureless grasslands and arid habitats of the North-west and in such large numbers (there were thousands of them), when I actually witnessed it feeding / digging out the "bead like" rootlets of grass and munching on this nutritious food. - AS.
