Detalhes da observação
2 dark birds flushed from a patch of grass as we were trying to find what was making some faint chipnotes. One of them was photographed and aided tremendously since the sighting was briefly. Individual on photo shows all dark bill, all dark legs, no barring on flanks, very, very faint white spots on wings, and some dark rufous on the upper back. We eliminated Gray-breasted Crake for the following reasons: 1, The absence of the bicolor bill as adult or the tinge of green on the base of bill in juvinile gbcr. 2. The lack of barring on the flanks. 3, The rufous on a gbcr would go all the way to the nape almost touching the crown while this bird had the rufous on the upper back extending a little bit on the neck. Size was about the same as Yellow-breasted Crake as I have seen them multiple times getting flushed by the boat.
