Last year's male sings at 5:21 pm from his usual Ash tree and switches song types after the third phrase. The female responds with chatter.
Detalhes da observação
Only realized on our way out along the main farm path that there was a second pair of Eastern Meadowlarks. The first six recordings (with changing song types) are of last year's male singing on the usual Ash tree in the lower field (refuge field). The seventh and eighth recording is of the second male singing from the hedgerow trees between the top of the main field and the back field. The last recording is last year's male singing and switching song types from his favorite perch on the Ash tree. I've noticed that when people walk along the main farm path, last year's male drops down from the tree or flies to the back of the field. He will return if you are stationary for about 10 min.
