Detalhes da observação
I have encountered as many as three Wilson's Snipe here during previous counts, so I was on the lookout for them, but I was still shocked when I spotted one in a scope, casually hanging out on the periphery of a dryish pond mostly filled with short grass. Striped head, long straight bill, wide-set eyes. Dorsum displayed several long, white stripes. Watched this individual preen and forage for maybe five minutes. I flushed a second bird from a different location maybe ten minutes later. It had a long, straight bill, and while I saw no plumage details, it did give a single harsh alarm call that matched perfectly with that of WISN. I later flushed what I suspected may have been a third bird (also gave WISN alarm call) , but I couldn't confirm that it wasn't a duplicate sighting, so leaving at two individuals.
