Detalhes da observação
I was just about at the end of the beach when I noticed the sizeable, innermost point with plenty of birds along the shores.. I figured I should scan for anything like Curlews or Knots... well!! I flinched, as if slapped, when I panned across the Oystercatchers... there, out on the beach, looking very confused and yet maintaining its stately composure as it glanced around, was... a STRAW-NECKED IBIS?! The smart black of the back... the crisp white of the belly and throat... the handsome, stout curve of the bill... to see all that, in less than a second, left me beyond excited!! There it stood, its manner impressively dignified even as its surroundings confused it, regarding me from across the narrow bay between the beach and the inlet. It was when I decided to head around onto the inner point and bag some closer shots that I decided to begin the West Inlet list...
