Detalhes da observação
When I went out today, I decided to focus on getting good photos first and foremost for a change... and that's certainly what happened with the Kelps; there was one bird that sat up to its knees in water, hurling abuse at me as I hunted down the Waders. I took a photo and came closer... no change. Another photo. No change. And then... then it leapt up, pattering across the surface to get airborne, and I desperately fired off my shot... I at first assumed I'd cut the wingtip off an otherwise flawless photo, so I genuinely got chills to look through and see that I'd effectively taken the absolute perfect flight shot of a Kelp in my entire life!!! What's more, the exact same bird wheeled around with its friends before landing almost exactly where it had been; it even turned this way and that in the sunlight, making sure I got the perfect lighting... these are almost certainly my best Kelp Gull shots I've ever taken, and the photoshoot was an absolute joy!!
