Detalhes da observação
Highlight of the trip! Dark, long-tailed warbler seen well along boot spring. Didn’t have white on its wings, and only the corners of its tail were white. Dark face and a red crown with orange-red underparts. Foraging actively in pine trees near the top of the spring at about 29°14'24.0"N 103°17'52.0"W . I noticed it often had a strange position while it foraged; wings spread and lowered with tail fanned out. Fist detected by song which I did not identify at first, but have found in one of my recordings of a different species. The bird remained mostly silent while I watched it. This might be one of the birds that was present in this area last summer, but it appears to be an isolated report and the only US record from this year.
