Infanticide documented: a pair killing a single chick, ejecting it from the nest and mating at the end. We don't know if the adults in this video are the actual parents of the chick, but this behaviour has been reported a number of times in this species, as well as in other herons, specially in early nesting attempts with only one surviving chick. Elevation: 1 m. Date added to IBC: October 20, 2017.
