Detalhes da observação
Life Bird. ABA bird #800. I first spotted this bird in flight as it flushed and flew around the outside of the line of birders, to a spot behind us as, we made our first pass through the far boneyard. I asked Aaron, who was next to me toward the hillside edge, if he saw it and he said no. Apparently, I was the only one who saw it. I really didn’t know what it was, but I knew it was probably something good. I told Aaron that we will have to try to locate it on the way back. On the return pass, we found this bird right about where I saw it drop down on our first pass. It was late in the evening so the light was low, making it difficult to pick up colors. It would flush and then run a short distance through the wormwood. Often times, it would flush just a couple feet from us and not fly very far. Seemed very tired. Rufous tail, brownish overall, obvious white complete eyering, scaly paterned pale breast, white undertail coverts, surprisingly smaller than expected. See poor photos attached. Much better photos by others. 6th ABA record.
