First spotted flying over with flock of about 100 Canada Geese as I was driving by the Main CSA Farm Field at the intersection of Moose Hill St. and S. Main Street. The flock looked like in landed in Wolomolopoag Pond adjacent to the farm field. My initial thought was : "nice a Snow Goose, great bird for this area". I headed to the edge of the pond for a better look with the binoculars. The bird was out in the middle of the pond and I could see that it seemed very small for a Snow Goose and had a stubby bill and rounded head. I went back up to the Nature Center to get my scope and headed back to look at the bird. A closer look at the the bill showed a lack of grin patch, grayish blue color to base of bill. I referenced the Sibley guide there and could see that the border at the base of the bill was pretty straight with a very slight curve. I'm guessing it is probably the first for Norfolk County?
