Bachman's Sparrow - started off sounding "normal", then switched to this strange call/song. Never laid eyes on it.
Detalhes da observação
Heard these guys singing a few times (four to be precise), and when I tried to approach them they would go quiet, but if I stayed still and waited in the area, after a few minutes I'd also start hearing these thin, really high-pitched and faint "chips" in the underbrush that I couldn't help thinking might be them as well. Sounded like they were only a few feet away, but even though I sat down and waited for several minutes, they refused to pop their heads up. Not even when - at one spot - a feeding flock of titmice came through. I'm afraid I only thought to record the one that changed its call to a weird jumble, as it was something I'd never heard before. The others (and this one when I first heard it) did sing that characteristic "Heeeeaar kitty, kitty, kitty, kitty, kitty!"
