NOTES: 'WEET' CALLS [This recording contains various examples of the "Advertising Call" of BNA (repeated renditions of "poo-ee'-chk"), apparently given by both male and female birds. I am less certain of the identity of the twittering "chik" notes (e.g., 0:10-0:21), which may be the "Threat Calls" or "Duet Chittering" of P. nigricollis (if not an Aechmophorus [??]) Quality unchanged (2) - CAM - 21 November 2004]. Habitat: Lake.

Additional species

  • Western Grebe Aechmophorus occidentalis
