NOTES: Time: 8-10 am; "Kites have nested here since 1991. Nesting area is in deep bottom land hardwood forest, approx. .3mi. from river. 1 immature being fed by adults. Immature bird never ranged more than 100 meters from white oak tree originally used in 1991. Today these birds were soaring and perching in tops of White oak and Tupelo gum 8'-10' high with a beautiful slough beneath."; Recorded from directly below the nest. [The calls here represent exclusively the two-syllable, "Phee-phew" Call described in BNA account. Quality added (2 - some quiet road/airplane noise and many cicadas - BEST parts at 2:20-2:57 and 4:57-5:32) - CAM - 28 February 2005]. Other Behaviors: Establish Parent Young Contact, Social Context: Family. Habitat: Forest, Deciduous Forest.
