Observasjonsdetaljer
Continuing. A Peregrine Falcon bombed the smaller 2nd panne a few times, scattering all of the shore birds. It took nearly an hour for all of the shorebirds to settle back down onto the 2nd panne, at which time I was able to observe and photograph the Wilson's Phalarope. Whereas all of the other shorebirds were feeding while standing, the WIPH was mostly feeding while floating and moving in erratic zigzag (brownian motion) patterns. It was not spinning, as is a classic feeding behavior for this specieces. When looking at the bird head on it displayed a widow's peak of darker plumage, which was an extension of the same coloration on its crown. A beautiful and elegant bird.
