Observasjonsdetaljer

First time seeing one in CA; the only other time I've seen this bird was in southeast AZ. Making chip calls very high in tall pine tree along flood control channel here: 33.8211838, -118.1296707 (right by a park table and due west of a baseball field). Partial yellow eyebrow/yellowish lores; nice gray-blue color along the back. Seems a bit dull so probably a female/immature. Grayish and dark eye line, white undertail coverts, streaking along the flanks, and a clean yellow throat nicely contrasting with its white underparts. It foraged high in the pine tree canopy but would occasionally come down about 10-15 feet off the ground into the adjoining smaller trees (privets). Chip notes sounded somewhat between an ANHU chip and a TOWA chip. It was a little challenging parsing out the GRWA from a nearby TOWA, which was also calling and seemed to be associated with this bird as they foraged mid to high canopy in the pine tree line.
