Observasjonsdetaljer

Continuing: In the SW corner of the swamp, on the lake side (W) of the gravel road. Finally saw one low down in a tree. Moves pretty often. Thru the binocs, I saw rufous coloration on the wings & a rather small bill. Had a clean grayish breast. Didn’t get a picture, nor did I see it fly, other than jumping back into reeds. I did clearly hear chip calls. I have 5+ Merlin recordings which ID it also. One is a clear, loud, hard chip call, in a single-species recording. I have attached it. There were SOSPs and RWBBs also calling during my observation. There may have been 2 SWSPs calling at one point ( a slight distance apart).
