*Uncommon. On the later end for Parasitic Jaeger in the region. A different bird than the one from the 4th Leg, spotted first by Nathan distantly harassing some gulls that likely had found some fish that Phil threw into the lake. Don stopped the boat, and while we were headed towards the bird to relocate it, we picked it up making a beeline straight for us. We all then had wonderful views as it harassed some Herring Gulls off the boat, flew directly overhead for a moment to check us out (and the gulls behind the boat), then flew off out back into the lake. A medium-sized immature jaeger with bold white upperwing flash, smaller sleeker head with some golden flecking, black-and-white checkered uppertail coverts, mottled dark brown and gray body, black-and-white checkered underwings, and bold white flash at the outer edge of the primaries (but not a double flash). Sleeker bird than one would expect for a Pomarine, and certainly too big for a Long-tailed. Seen here: 41.8388369, -87.2511210. Many photos taken.
