Observasjonsdetaljer
***Unbelievable. Initially saw what looked like a bonaparte’s with a very light gray mantle (nothing like the franklins), white leading edges of primaries, and a slight black trailing edge. Also noticed a faint hood that almost looked like a collar from far away. However, the bill was reddish, and the undersides of the primaries (JUST the primaries) were blackish. Bird was also quite a bit larger than I would expect from a Bonaparte’s- just slightly smaller than a ring bill. Crazily enough, it was foraging in a flooded field right next to the Sabines at one point. Unfortunately it was not close and the wind made digiscoping impossible, so I splashed through puddles back to my car, grabbed the camera, tried getting closer, and got a couple horrible photos, and eventually lost it when the whole gull flock took off and flew west.
