Observasjonsdetaljer

Known location for this species. Initially we heard the call of one when standing along the AZ trail Blue blaze from an area up a hillside of fir trees here 34.003822, -111.471480 What we heard was a repetitive very low frequency call that repeats every second; each call lasted about 8secs. Did not sound like WWDO nor MODO at all. This was repeated about 5x ; each time we tried to get recordings; none of my recordings turned out (I believe the frequency was too low for my camera's ability to record). We then saw one Band-tailed Pigeon fly from one tree to another not far from the top of this hillside. We returned to the road, then noticed a trail (fairly steep) that goes up the hillside. We arrive at the above coordinates location. Then we saw two Band-tailed pigeons fly at the same time. One went over the crest of the hill (EAST), whilst the other perched south of us on the hillside in view. Black-tipped yellow bill; white collar on back of neck; overall gray/lavender color. Photos.
