Kommentarer

Presumed first-year male that appeared much like an adult male but primaries contrasting paler brown. Song a bit atypical -- three parts with rapid trill, rapidly rising, flat, then descending whistled note, and higher trill and the end. Almost suggested Spotted Towhee, but no sign of hybridization. The bird sang from the same exposed perch the entire time, always giving the same song.

  • Gray Catbird Dumetella carolinensis
  • Rose-breasted Grosbeak Pheucticus ludovicianus
