Observasjonsdetaljer

We counted/heard about 5 of this mid-sized warbler with a long tail. Iit has a dark brown overall wash, with a white throat and pale running eye-line. Its habitat at the Katotoi Hills is found at an altitude of about 1250 meters above sea level with a dense ground cover. Interestingly, we don't have bamboo here but the habitat is moist and lush with some long grassy patches. The birds call more often especially in the morning and late afternoon with several individuals calling from different points. The distinctive song: a ratcheting up-and-down that is slow-pitched from the one on the app is a duet performance that runs for up to 3 minutes and also occasionally punctuated by a soft "Zz-zz-z" buzz which only lasts for several seconds. My guest and arespected birder got some reasonable photos and I managed to get some good quality audio calls.
