Observasjonsdetaljer
Mega, found earlier this week by Ben Pearl, who originally called it a possible leucistic Semipalmated Plover, when seeing the photos I thought it was a piping so got word out and came down today. Took about 20 minutes to refind with Michael Park and Ethan Monk, overall stone gray plover with black beady eye and orange legs, short thick bill and more attenuated posture than Semipalmated’s nearby. In flight obvious thick white wingstripe out to end of wing differentiating it from Semipalmated (faint), stark white rump, semipalmated (brown). Michael Park was smart enough to photograph the toes and got shots where no webbing is clear eliminating a Semipalmated Plover indefinitely. Not sure about age but either a juvenile or a basic female.
