Observasjonsdetaljer

As I was taking a walk in our fields, I heard something unusual overhead, and Merlin identified it as Red Crossbills. It was a quiet day, out in the country, with not much noise pollution or wind and very few other bird sounds, so Merlin could easily hear it. Merlin and I both listened for at least 45 seconds as the flock flew overhead. I heard rapid, high chips or peeps, and I am trying to attach the Merlin recording (esp. around 25-45 secs you can hear them faintly). I could not see them well enough to count or identify visually, but based on the number of calls I heard it was clearly a flock, not just one bird.
