This bird has been confirmed as Bornean Swiftlet by James Eaton using features that will be described in an upcoming paper. I will edit this description to explain once the paper is published. These photos are screenshots from a video taken by Richard Aracil as pat of the University of Montana avian life history study.
Observasjonsdetaljer
This bird has been confirmed as Bornean Swiftlet by James Eaton. James has recently published a new paper on Bornean Swiftlet identification, which can be read here… https://www.researchgate.net/publication/377077594_Citizen_science_and_dodgei_records_revisiting_the_identification_and_distribution_of_Bornean_Swiftlet According to this paper, the key feature that separates Bornean Swiftlet from Plume-toed Swiftlet is the dull brown cap that is scarcely discernible from the mantle and face, creating an appearance that is overall mostly uniform. In contrast, Plume-toed has a distinct, dark glossy-blue cap that contrasts with the browner, less glossy rest of the face.
