Continuing A real thrill and privilege to see this bird And a deep reminder of being as unobtrusive as possible when observing. While utterly content to see it at a distance, the heron flew and alit to within six feet of my squatted position near the shoreline (only to be immediately chased off by a group of Canada Geese.) The proximity and encounter was nonetheless priceless. There is great satisfaction in knowing of its presence. Thank you to those who provided the guidance and to the patient and humble distance we keep.
