Observasjonsdetaljer
This bird was found associating with Black-bellied Plovers, but was observed acting aggressively towards them. A juvenile, it clearly had four primary tips extending behind the tertials; the supercilium was broad and white, and dropped down at the back of the head, encircling the auriculars. Overall, the face pattern reminded me of a Roman gladiator's helmet. The golden spangling on the back was quite noticeable in comparison to the Black-bellied Plovers this bird was loosely associating with, although it wasn't the yellow-gold that I commonly see on Pacific Golden-Plovers.
