Observasjonsdetaljer
Bird was not present around the nest yesterday evening after 5. This morning, after waiting for about an hour, I walked up the road hoping to find some sunlight. The second I hit sun (about 6:55), I heard the bird calling on the hillside above! This was probably just over half a mile up the road from the nest. Soon after, the bird started working its way back down to the road and was back to the nest by 7:30-7:40. This may be a good area to check early in the morning, as the bird appears to hunt the sunny patches much earlier than it can be seen at the nest. First seen here: 31.781942,-109.307757. After 7:40 the bird remained within earshot of the nest until I left (about 4 hours later). Calling very often, "tree tree" call given almost every time the bird swoops out to catch an insect. For those looking for better details on the nest location, the nest is probably 20 feet off the road straight out from the "T" rock (same side of the road as the rock), about 10-12 feet up on an exposed branch right where it splits off from a larger branch.
