Though it's the wrong date, I've included this photo of the Scoter on the last day I'd been to the Gravels before Christmas to see her. This was 12.23.15 @ 9:26 am

female. I'd like to note that this female Black Scoter was observed several times. I have photos for these dates as well: 10.27.15 @ 10:13am; 11.9.15 @ 4:08pm; 12.9.15 @3:57pm; 12.18.15 @ 8:27am; 12.23.15 @ 9:26am. Seeing it out in the water near shore all alone for over a month after seeing it with the two Eiders, I wondered if it had been injured. Because I had never seen it fly, I felt it was unable to, especially where it remained in the same small section of coastline for the whole period I had been seeing it, even with ice buildup around the shoreline toward the end of December.
