Here's an image of the dead one
Observasjonsdetaljer
Actually saw 2, but one was dead and smashed on the road on the Air Force property. The other was seeking shelter in shrubs and rocks at the top of the hill by Pan-STARRs. It flushed erratically as we approached the area and we lost sight of it in the boulders below. Every fall young Leiothrix end up stranded at the summit. We have previously seen a large flock of them (largest this century? - http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist/S25700122 ) aimlessly working their way up the mountain, and have heard accounts and stories of them arriving and dying on the high summits, but this was the first time we witnessed one (two) of them at HO.
