Note the upturned bill. I mis-identified this bird at first, thinking it was a Horned Grebe, based on the non-breading plumage. However, when I saw Stefan's report of 10-21-21 showing he'd seen an Eared Grebe, I went to Sibley's 2nd Ed. and checked it against my photo and there it was, plain as day - an upturned bill. Thanks Stefan for setting me straight on this one. I learned something today (10-21-21).
