Observasjonsdetaljer
Paul Peterson reported seeing these in the Sweet Gum trees (the ones with the big round seed balls) along the path on the way to Pinebank Promontory from The Jamaicaway near the "great depression." Sure enough, there they were placidly feeding in the trees. Marygrace Barber has some phonescoped images, one of which I have included here (forgot my phone, aarrgh!). Very accommodating birds, fairly low in the trees. Much better views than the ones I saw high up in conifers at the Arboretum. Observed for about 20 minutes before they flew off en masse towards the pond, alighting in the trees near the exercise bar adjacent to the path around the pond. 6 were red with white-wing bars (i.e adult males), the rest yellow with variable streakiness, so likely female, or possibly juvenile.
