Observasjonsdetaljer
Adult femaie, continuing, brilliant green above, buffy below with grey-brown primaries and tail and a white eye-ring. Many observers present for a long time waiting to see her. She came to the green hanging feeder briefly and then disappeared into the middle of the tree. Most of the other birds took off in heterogenous groups but the Painted Bunting remained. After searching the tree carefully, most of us found her absolutely still in the back of the tree. Another observer said that a Merlin or Cooper's Hawk flew by and spooked the songbirds which is why the Painted Bunting held perfectly still. She stayed like that for at least 10 minutes, then moved her head a bit and eventually became active again as many other birds came back.
