Trying to eat a fish that appeared to be longer than the bird's own body. Smacked the fish's head against the branch where the bird perched numerous times, then finally tried to swallow it. Got the head to almost the anal fin down the hatch then spat the fish back up and smacked it a few more times. I tried to take some pictures, but when I did the fish was gone and I missed whether it swallowed it, or dropped it back into the water. I should have just continued watching this wonderful spectacle of nature through my scope since my camera does not have enough zoom to get a good picture from the distance at which I was observing. I told myself that before readying my camera, but I didn't listen. Dummy!
